For all Canadians, and NON canadians if you want to really see how much
the TAX MAN takes from us here. Ontario Tax calculations are only included, if
you live in another province you will have to change the portion yourself( or
you can give me a donation and I will attempt to).
Any comments I have included in the spreadsheet are intended to offend
anyone, they are meant in fun of this ridiculous exercise we are forced
into each year.
I have put this Excel 4.0( I do not supply Excel but if you are lotus for
windows or quatro pro for windows users you be able to read it in)
spreadsheet together to help you do your 1992
Income Tax return, without having to go and pay someone to do it for you. I
have requested to Revenue Canada for several years, for an automated return form
(free) to deliver a tax return without a response to date. Help save the
environment of all that wasted paper, etc. I have heard they have a dial in
service. This TAX 92 spreadsheet
handles MOST tax returns but I did not include a print option to print to the
TAX form, sorry. IF you require a form not included fill it in and enter
amounts into corresponding locations in the spreadsheet.
All you have to do is enter your tax information from
your receipts and everything is automatically calculated for you. I have
split the spreadsheet so you can see the refund you may be getting, as you
enter your data. Of course, if your in my boat you will see how much you pay
go up. ONLY ENTER DATA in single line boxes since the double lined boxes are
Calculated for you.
The nice thing about this spreadsheet is in the area of RRSP
contributions. Its the time of year, when everybody hears about them, but
people really don't understand what they can do for you. Besides being the
last excellent way of reducing TAXES. Besides the fact you are setting aside
a nest egg for yourself for your retirement, since by the time I retire,
the Canada Pension Plan will most likely NOT exist in the next century. This
spreadsheets show you immediately the effect on your refund(or what you owe)
if you make a contribution to your RRSP.
This spreadsheet shows you why you should not contribute more then $1700
to your favorite political party(s). The ceiling credit is $750 which you
realize by giving $1700. If you give more you must be looking for other
favours since their is no tax advantage to doing it.
Another thing that you can do is see the effect of $1000 coming from
Dividends versus $1000 coming from interest. It shows you pretty quickly why
you should be investing in Canadian corporations that pay dividend.
This spreadsheet is provided on an as is basis, with no garantees
expressed. I classify this software as TAXFREE WARE, and hopefully you can
save yourself some money(on taxes, HRBlock or accountants). I welcome any
comments you may have or you notice any blatent mistakes. I have tested
against several different tax returns and feel all the bugs are out.
Suggest you copy the spreadsheet before you change for backup purposes.
If you feel inclined to pass me money personally, It would be
appreciated, and I will donate all moneys mailed to me to the Childrens Hospital
of South Western Ontario.
